Muslim Branding on Our Food

A food company Dick Smith's Foods has come out firmly, with a policy that it is not paying money to an Islamic organisation, to have their food products certified as Halal. Hurray lets hope more companies do.

Nor have they ever been asked by a Christian organisation to pay for certification. The link above explains more.

Since apparently the fees for Halal certification are significant, I ask again where does the money for certification go to. ? I hope not overseas to Muslim organisations.

Remember that AFIC the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils is under police investigation concerning the apparent disappearance of millions of dollars of taxpayer funded money given to Muslim Schools. It has not revealed where the money it gets for certification goes.

If You object to paying a fee to an Islamic organisation which is not open about where the money goes then please   Sign the petition

I am not actually promoting OzEmite, as I prefer Promite!,  which is not halal certified either, but when you buy Vegemite you are giving some money to AFIC.

Islamic food fees you are paying unknowingly

I object to paying hidden fees when I buy food.

Do you know that when you buy Vegemite, Tassel salmon, San Remo pasta, and many other foods you are paying a fee to AFIC.

Who are AFIC? They are the Australian Federation of Islamic councils. Look for a little symbol on the label, which says AFIC.

This organisation charges a fee for certifying that the food product is Halal, and you pay towards this, unknowingly probably. Many companies pay a fee but do not show the symbol.

So don't buy the product, if you don't want to support AFIC.

The AFIC has an embracing mission statement; but its actions are not consistent with that statement. For example, the appointment by the AFIC of the notorious Taj El-Din Hilaly as Grand Mufti of Australia, was in conflict with the AFIC’s stated mission.

Taj El-Din Hilaly was a convicted criminal serving time in jail. His sermons were often anti-Australian, and his views on Australian women (“cat’s meat”) are well known. Commissioner Pru Goward said his statements on women were an incitement to crime.
Hilaly never condemned the terrorist attacks on the USA on 11 September 2001. In fact, he is reported as supporting that offence by saying it was an act of god.

The AFIC is known to have received hundreds of thousands of dollars for years from Colonel Gaddafi of Libya.Further, Hilaly appeared to support Hezbollah, classified by the Australian Government as a terrorist organization

AFIC is currently being investigated by the police over the disappearance of millions of dollars of tax payers money, given to Islamic schools, by the Australian taxpayer.

Time may tell, if it is not hushed up, whether the money was just badly accounted for, or was used corruptly to pay people, or whether some was syphoned off to give to Muslim organisations like Hezbollah.

If you do not want to support AFIC  please Sign the Petition to try and stop these companies paying AFIC a fee with your money.
