Catholic, Sharia or State law

Why State law must prevail

If we as most, - but alas not all- oppose Sharia law then we must not set a precdent for it to be introduced here in Australia and other western minded countries. Even the European court of Human rights has found that: "Sharia law is not compatable with human rights and democracy." Don't even mention the Talibans interpretation of it.
Sharia Law to Muslims is Gods law and above or part of the law of the land. Catholic law is subservient to the laws of the state. Except apparently when it comes to confession. During preparation for the Australian Royal Commision into paedophilia in communities, the Catholic church has declared confessions are sacrosanct. You can't have it both ways.
Many Catholics who would declare laws of the state must be above Sharia law, would also argue that Confessions are sacrosanct.
In countries like most Western ones who have a constitution that guarantees freedom of religion, and the separation of state and church, declare state law as the rule of law. If we permit the Catholic church to hide behind the confession, whatever convincing arguments are put forward, then we have a precedent.
If we allow Catholic religious law to be above the law of the land, but not Sharia religious law, we have an inequality or an injustce. Any equal opportunity/rights court would declare a precedent and allow Sharia law.

This must not happen if we wish to preserve our free way of life.

Therefore the Royal commision must not allow the Catholic church to declare the confession in this instant secret and sacrosanct.
